Foundation Programme
The Foundation Programme courses at the University of Management and Design are super-intensive studies in English, Math, Study Skills, Computer Literacy and Preparation for the IELTS Exam.
They are designed to address the needs of students who, for whatever reason, need additional support to ensure success in their studies.
The mission of the UMD Foundation Programme is to assist students from Central Asia, and beyond in acquiring the language and life skills necessary to benefit fully from university-level studies, to provide the support necessary for students to gain the knowledge, confidence and motivation to function effectively in academic and professional environments, and to promote the development of personal resources for success in life.
There is flexibility within the Programme to allow students to advance at their own pace.
Certificates of Completion are awarded to students who successfully finish the programme.
Preparatory Programme
This Programme is targeted at students who are still at school and plan to enter university after school graduation. The programme is half-day (either morning or afternoon) - 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).

English Language Centre
The UMD English Centre offers courses in English as a Second Language to anyone who wishes to learn English or improve the skills they already have. The English Centre can also arrange courses in English for Special Purposes such as:

Testing and Evaluation
The UMD Testing and Evaluation Centre, under the UMD Language Centre, offers free IELTS and TOEFL testing, with free coaching on how to improve your score.
Every Saturday afternoon at 2pm during the academic year. Please call the Language Centre by 12:00pm on Friday to reserve your place - (0312) 44-31-21.
The Preparatory Programme at the University of Management and Design is an intensive programme of studies in English, Math, Study Skills, Computer Literacy and Preparation for the IELTS Exam designed to address the needs of students who are in the tenth or eleventh forms in high school and prepare them for entry into university.
Admission to the Preparatory Programme in no way guarantees admission to UMD, however successfully completing the programme means these students will have priority over external prospective students.
